History of Temple of Christ Christian Church

Pastor Marlene Griggs was assigned to Christ Temple A.M.E.Z Church

in Willingboro, NJ by the Bishop over the Mid-Atlantic Conference in

November 2005.  Her mission was to pastor the troubled congregation

until the large building was sold.  A call for prayer and fasting resulted in the

prophecy that Christ Temple would go through a "new beginning".

Rev. Griggs' plan for a school was rejected by the Bishop and in 2007, the

church building was lease-purchased by a local Pentecostal church and the

AMEZ congregation was dissolved.

In February 2009, after much prayer and in response to the leading

of the Holy Spirit, Rev. Griggs re-opened the church in her apartment in

Collingswood NJ.  August 2009, Rev. Griggs married Minister Errol Warner Jr.

and became Mrs. Marlene Griggs-Warner.

During the annual conference in May 2010, the new Bishop

instructed Pastor to change the name from Christ Temple.  The new ten

member congregation voted to call the church Temple of Christ AMEZ but

the Bishop refused to recognize the congregation as a new society in AMEZ.

The church moved to the Fairview Village Community Center in Camden NJ

and continued to do the Lord's work.

Pastor Griggs' brother and sister-in-law (missionaries in Kenya)

requested correspondent Bible courses for Kenyans in Opasi.  As a result a

church: Temple of Christ AMEZ was formed.  The Bishop told Pastor Marlene

to take the name of AMEZ off the church in Kenya because "only Bishops

form AMEZ churches."  The congregation in Camden once again sought

the Lord and after prayer and deliberation, voted to obey the Bishop and

remove the name of AMEZ from the Kenyan church as well as the Camden

congregation (we were not an official recognized AMEZ church or society).

As a result in May, 2010, we became know as Temple of Christ Christian

Church, Inc. and formed of Temple of Christ Christian Outreach

and Fellowship of Christian Churches, Inc. with one congregation in Camden,

NJ and two in Kenya.  In July 2011 Minister Errol M Warner Jr. joined the

Camden congregation and we are now directed by God to plant a third

church in Kissomo, Kenya.
